Defragmenting your hard drive has is an essential part of keeping your computer running at an optimal speed. It essentially takes all of the separated files on your hard disk, and rearrange them back together so that everything just runs smoother. There is an inbuilt utility in Windows XP defragmenting the fragmented files which is not that good.
